E92 - Excessive wind noise
Well I picked up my 330d E92 on Friday and I abso-f**king-lutly love it.
However one niggle I have is that when I accidentally exceed the legal limit there's an aweful lot of wind noise from the passengers door. It seems to be coming from where the wing mirror mount / glass meet the A-pillar. The more I accidentally exceed the limit the worse it gets, to a point where I can hear it over the radio. Any ideas how to resolve said issue? On a plus point, it keeps me below 70... |

If you got tweeters, then it may be that you are missing the foam molds behind them. Without them you'll definitely hear a lot of wind noise above 70mph.

Maybe its been replaced, but badly. The glass angle can be adjusted inside the door BTW if its that...

The E90 LCI gets worse the closer you get to a lepton. I think on the LCI it is due to the massive door mirrors. They are like truck mirrors compared to pre LCI

i had the same issue and asked the stealers to look at it under warranty. They said that its no more noise than whats expected. They aslo said its the way the wing mirror and door are designed so there is nothing that can be done about. Mine starts to come through arond 80 MPH........well thats what i was told when someone else drove it.....yeah someone else! ;oP

It can't be the design as it only happens one one side, the drivers side is fine. Mines pre-LCI btw.
You can actually feel the air come through the gap, but you can't see the gap. If you put your finger there it changes tone, like less air is getting in. |
