What tyres Should i buy next for my 335D

Hi guys just after a few opinions on what tyres i should get next on my 335d currently i have the 19" star alloys with Bridgstone RFT's on them and dont know weather to get the same or change to non RFT's. I dont want to skimp on tyres and get a set of crappy ones where i will be spinning every time it rains and i dont want to pay through the teeth for them so i have to find the median. I think that RFTs might just be a gimic seeing as they are only ament to get you to a garage where as you can use gunk in non runflats and they do the same.
Any help will be much apretiated

I was in the same position!
Have now changed rims and have fitted Falken 452s all round, this has changed the whole car to the way it should be! Run-flats give a ridiculous ride, and if you need to replace, they are about 220 a corner!
I got a deal through Rimstyle for wheels and tyres for 1170 delivered.
I can honestly say, it was the best thing I did!! If you just need tyres, check out Camskill or Micheldever tyres. Good luck with your new 'ride'!!

Is it just me who has no problem with run flats? Apart from the cost obviously.

I have to agree with Rich, I don't have a problem with them the ride is a little harsh but the car is lovely to drive. Saying all that I would consider replacing on 4 tyres when the time comes to non-rft just for the cost alone.

+1
I like the ride on runflats, even with an Eibach Prokit.

The only reason I'd consider changing, was the awful starts I was getting off the line at Santa Pod last month.

a mate of mine has just put Kumho KU39's all round on his, 235 35 front and 255 30 rear, cost him £495 fitted at our local garage, the car feels sooo much better, he cant believe the difference it has made, he was going to go for Falkens but they couldnt get any for a few days. I drove it last night and it was completely different to mine, so much more comfortable, slight loss of turn in feel but that is to be expected.

Weather's crap here at the moment and no problems in the rain either. The Kumho's are getting some really good reviews at the moment and the KU39 came 3rd in a test, Mich being 1st, cant remember 2nd. The tyre fitter is going to a day with them this week to test drive them on an R8 and other high performance cars. If they are good enough for an R8 they are good enough for a 35d in my book!

You can get them on Camskill for around £440 for the set, not bad imo!

If not going for the top-level premium tyres (Conti, Michelin, etc) then Eagle F1 Assymetrics and Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas seem to me the best reviewed, looking at the more performance-oriented reviews (though the latter has dropped away a bit in recent years). The F1 Assymetrics (not to be confused with the older V-pattern F1's) tend to be rated very highly on performance wet and dry, and subjective appeal, yet people like Camskill sell them really competitively.

One EVO test summarises here, and links to others from this site:

http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article...-Tyre-Test.htm

Something like a 335d or 335i is going to place a serious strain on the tyres with that much torque - and read the tests carefully as in the UK it tends to be wet weather performance in cool temperatures that is going to catch you out, not a dry slalom at 30 degrees.

I found the same issue with my old FocusST that was about 300bhp and the Falkens 452's couldn't cope after 5k miles it broke traction all the time.

As for Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas - I swear by these, Brilliant tyres in the dry and wet and do not cost the earth and are rather cheap on camskill at the moment.

Falken 452 for me, second set. I have a third set in the garage wheel rack

For me the exact same compromise that the OP is after.

And I can switch the DTC off and light them up without opening the wallet

Hi mate I just put pirelli p zeros rfts on mine the ride and grip so far is very good compared to bridgestones and all for £850 at a.t.s.I know a lot of peeps on here rave about falken 452s and going up a tyre width, but i heard it was all falken could supply at the time.A good friend of mine who works for the local stealers seems to think that a 335 will shred them for a past time.
Anyway best of luck with your choice there all out there.

If you have the money PS3s are great. Have these as runflat on mine and they are so much better than the condos before. With a car of your performance I would not skimp on rubber.

There's recently been a 7.8% price hike on Falken tyres. This puts the 452's not too far off the price of Vredestein Sessanta's. The car now sits on four new 19" vreds - £700 supplied & fitted.

Where did you get yours from Cyprio? You're local to me and I'm going to be needing my rears replaced soon, and am thinking about going down the non RFT route for all 4 and selling the RFT fronts....

The Falkens are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain as well!

I've been waiting 4 wks for Micheldever to get back to me on an order I made,so the Vreds are likely to be making an appearance on the backend of my car fairly soon.

Camskill look favourite for any tyres at the moment, although Micheldever will price match.

I've been researching tyres over the past few days and I've settled on vredestein sessantas over Falkens.
I've just priced up a set of four,for a 335d for £447.96 including delivery.
I'll get my local garage to balance and fit for £40-cheap as chips,good-bye run-flats!

18"s and from Camskill.£99 each for the fronts and £120 each for the rears.
I don't need them yet,but I might just put them into storage as I won't have much tread left after the remap!

No, non RFT,

Fronts

http://camskill.co.uk/m55b0s24p63908...R19_91Y_XL_TL_

Rears

http://camskill.co.uk/m55b0s1132p587...R19_91Y_XL_TL_

He said the car is totally transformed and doesnt know why he didnt do it sooner. Also nice to know that a rear tyre when needed will only cost £113 instead of £300

Performed great in the rain we had yesterday too.

he has only just put them on but should get more out of them than the bridgestones. I spoke to a local garage this morning as i may change mine over as the rears are feathering on the inner edge. He reckons that they should easily see 15k on the rear and 20k+ on the fronts. He has changed alot of E90/1/2 over to the Kumho's and everyone has been happy. And, at £495 fitted all round you cant complain!
