Wheel wobble / judder

I'm getting wheel wobble (quite bad under heavy braking) that can be felt a lot through the steering wheel. Bizarrely this only happens in the dry. I've got it booked in on monday for a checkout (Clayton cars, Bristol) but I just wanted a heads up beforehand. If the discs are warped wouldn't the wobble happen all the time. The discs were skimmed when I bought the car 2 weeks ago.

Anyone else had this?

Cheers

Yes.

I found the runbout in the hubs combined with the runout in the new EBC disks was close to 0.25mm and impossible to resolve to better than 0.2mm

I had them on a brake lathe, all corners and its absolutley perfect now.
In fact better than new. Some new cars have this treatment, you just don't know about it until you retrofit some new discs 30k later!

On used cars its not unusual for some runout - accidents and kerb whacks all take their toll.
But yours is a classic symptom of runout or disk thickness variation.
Often its wont show until they get hot, often long pull down from high speeds on motorways.
Not sure why, perhaps the uneven heating exascerbates it.

My guess is they didnt turn them down properly, not all brake lathes or operators are equal
If done properly ON CAR, its very worthwhile and can recover some pretty rough metal for about £120 all four on a 335i.

So poorly skimmed discs then causing the issue? The rain cooling the discs so not noticeable when wet?

Possibly, and you maybe dont hit them so hard in the wet?
