Buying tires need advice

I am ready to buy tires but I have a decision to make I can get a new set of general gmax for almost $800 or I can get a set of nankang all seasons for $350 both are locally. The Nankangs have 6/32s left. I need all seasons so it\'s pretty much between those two.

Forgot to mention the Nankangs are used but like I said they have 6/32s left so they still have some life in them. I'm kind of leaning towards the generals though.

As snow performance won't be much when the all-seasons wear down below 4/32", I'd avoid the used tires.

I don't know your sizes, but I managed to buy a set of new 17" Conti Extreme DWS tires last year for around $600 out the door for my 128i. Dry & wet grip, handling & ride are easily equal or superior to the OEM summer RFTs and although I garage the car in winter, other folks have reported very good winter performance.

Why don't you check these tires out on the Tire Rack website?

Sizes are 235/35-19 front and 265/30-19 rear I checked tirerack cheapest all seasons are the generals which are 801 and some change shipped. I will probably just get them and give them a try. I can get hankooks for less but I am going to use these year round and even though it only snows once or twice a year and even then we dont get much I think all seasons are needed.

That new General G-Max A/S that you're referring to has been very good so far in initial feedback and some limited testing. Good choice for the price.
