NRA sticker on the car. Bad?

Since I am a member of the NRA, I am thinking about putting the sticker on my car. Either on the inside front windshield or rear window. But some people claim that it will attract thieves to break into my car in attempts to find a gun. Is this a bad idea or people being paranoid?

It does indeed invite extra unwanted attention, kind of like the 'steal me' stickers for car audio systems.

That's not even remotely clever.

OP...I'd hold off on it...any sticker/decal that stands for something significant/political attracts unwanted attention..

This is why we can't have nice things.

I'd hold off, not a sticker fan anyway. I've got an E90Post decal on my passenger rear window and am debating putting a BMW CCA sticker in the windshield, but the sticker is remarkably ugly.

I have an NC highway patrol sticker on the lower left corner of my rear window that is about the same size as that. It is not on my car because I find it attractive. I have it there to inform any would be jerk police that I have family in law enforcement. It has actually helped me out on multiple occasions when the cops have actually brought up the sticker. Short of this type of practical sticker, I would stick to BMW specific stickers only if any at all.

**but I am a fan of the constitution and therefore am a gun rights advocate as well. Just don't see the value in advertising it on my car.

NRA Life Member, and proud of it. I also have the permit because I live in conceal/carry VA and am loving my right to carry all the way to the NRA HQ range. I'm a gun-totin', bible thumpin' Second Amendment Rights advocate, and nobody around here is bothered about it, thanks to the First Amendment.

I have a USMC seal on my driver side rear window that resembles the NRA seal, but that's about it. I like to keep my ride relatively clean and free of bumper stickers and other items because I don't have a need to broadcast my personal views, except my support for the armed services, but that's almost as bad as having the NRA sticker.

Don't even think about the consequences and you won't attract the riffraff. I would even think that they would stay away from your ride because of the seal. Besides, who in their right mind would leave a weapon unattended in the first place, especially in a vehicle?

IMO, I doubt that anything will happen, but in any event, that's what insurance is for.

It is a bit like painting a target on my car and will most likely attract unwanted attention and I would be worried about vandalism as the NRA seems to invoke strong feelings in some people.

It's your car do what you want, make sure your license to carry concealed is up to date though as you might want to guard your car.

Actually, it would make people think twice about breaking into your car because of fear of getting shot in the back when the driver/owner returns to the vehicle. The last person a thief would want to rob is someone who potentially carries a firearm.

I appreciate your obvious sarcasm in your opinion to the OP, which is totally the opposite of your exhortation to be civilized, because you probably believe that those who display the sticker are a bunch of bumpkins...I think that you might be expressing your disdain because you probably wish that you could actually handle a gun...LOL!

I must, however, disagree with your assessment of not giving bible thumping people a gun. They are more likely NOT to shoot someone by accident or for the fun of it.

Everyone is entitled to defend themselves, including bible thumpers. It's still a free country (so far), so lighten up. This is a friendly forum.

OP, u still da MAN!
