Would the front rub with 18x9.0 ET38?

Hi everyone,
if I run 18x9.0 ET38 tire size is 235/40/18 in the front for a car lowered with H&R touring cup kit, would the front rub?
Thanks,
Dung

e9x lci or pre lci the front struts are all the same. I have a 10.5 +15 in the front which leaves me around 5-7mm clearance compared to a 9 +38 in the offset calculator which brings it closer 4mm. Youll prolly want to run a 12mm spacer to flush out the front which is 9+25.

Thanks man!!!
So, based on the offset calculation provided on the top of the page,

for the front, it says: Based on your stock wheel setup, your new wheel will have: 24mm LESS clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT 12mm.

For the rear, it says: Based on your stock wheel setup, your new wheel will have: 1mm MORE clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT 11mm.

What does LESS & MORE clearance here mean? which 1 means I have no clearance?
thanks!

What wheels did you compare this to?
The calculator won't say no clearance

Dung,

This will work perfectly fine. You actually have 1mm more clearance then the aggressive 9.5 +33 with 235 wheel setups we do here.

i'm comparing to my VMR 710 18":
front 235/40/18 x 8.5 offset 20 (ET 35 +15mm spacers).
rear 265/35/18 x 9.5 offset 33 (ET 45 + 12mm spacers).

Guys, please help me with this front tire calculation.

The 235/40/18 on a 9" width is pretty stretched right?

40 is the aspect ratio of 235mm. Meaning 235 x 40% = 94mm. Which is how tall the sidewall is correct?

if I run 255/35/18 on a 9" width, then I should be ok too? because 255 x 35% = 89.25mm sidewall.

In order words, the front tire now is more square (not stretched), but since the sidewall is shorter, therefore I have more clearance?
Thanks,
Dung
