larger tires for 328i?

hello all...sorry if you have seen this post elsewhere...I am new to this site (and to BMWs!)
I just purchased a 2007 328i (sport package) and need to "raise" the car slightly (for clearance reasons). Does anyone know if I can put 225/55R17 tires on the front and not have a rubbing problem?

Are you just planning to put these giant tyres up front and leave the back alone? This will look like complete crap with giant balloon tyres that are 1.7" taller than stock. I doubt it will rub but it will a) look terrible b) handle weird and c) throw off the speedo, odo and possibly mess with the abs abs stability control. What do you need an additional 7/8" of clearance for?

225/55 is over 7% larger then stock and would result in a 4mph difference. I would highly not recommend this due to rubbing issues as well as the possibility of brake failure.

What was there reason for you looking to raise the car?
