Ordered new 19in V718, but what tires to get?

After four years with the original tires and rims I finally decided to upgrade. Ordered the 19in VMR V718 in hyper silver from **********s.com.

I need help on tire selection. I'm considering the Conti DWS all seasons because I live in Utah and drive in the snow. I have winter tires, but it would be nice not to have to swap them twice a year. Will the DWS work in the snow? I have a Land Cruiser for bad snow days. Is it worth the sacrifice in performance in the summer? What's a good and affordable summer tire? Would like to keep it under $1k.

I was pumping gas the other day and noticed the following issue with my front passenger side tire and decided it would probably be a good idea to stop driving on it until I got new tires. Been driving the 95 Land Cruiser for the last two weeks trying to decide on wheels and tires.

Thanks again for your order and support on the VMR V718 wheels. The setup that is going to work best is the 19x8.5 ET35 with a 235/35/19 up front and the 19x9.5 ET33 with a 265/30/19 in the rear. You'll have no issues with this setup and work perfectly on the car!

Whatever you do, don't drive summer tires in the winter. That being said, Hankook V12's, Conti Contact DW's, and Falken 452's are all great options for under $1k. An even cheaper option would be Nexen, Vreds, or Generals but I would spend the extra few $ on better tires. Depending on your tire sizes, you might be able to get some Michelin Pilot Super Sports for under $1000....I would definately go this route if you are able.

The DW's have been a great selling tire for us. All of our customers have been extremely happy with the performance in light snow. A 235/265 combo would be the recommended tire setup we generally do for a 8.5 +35/9.5 +33 fitment.

Thanks Charles. After lots of reading on this forum I decided to get the Conti DW. Just waiting for the wheels now...

You'll really like them. They are one of the more popular packages we mount here.

I assume you mean Extreme DWS

The extreme DW is a summer tire and will not work in the snow. Make sure you go with the DWS for any snow driving, not the DW.

Was planning on getting the DW not the DWS. Did a lot of research on the DWS and they appear to be some of the best all seasons but not nearly as good as winter tires. I already have a set of winter tires. And I got the Land Cruiser for bad snow days.

They do great as an All-Season and a light Winter tire. Since you already have a dedicated Winter tire, good choice in going with the DW for the Summer.
