Insurance rip off

Marks and Spencers have just told me that they will charge me a 25% loading if I fit a 17 OEM winter tyre package to my E92 (which has 19 inch 313s).

Are they insane!!!!!

And an extra £25 for making the change and a further £25 when I change them back.

And £75 if I cancel the policy.

have you tried telling them its Original manufacter equipment?

Is M&S the inusrance company or the broker? as when i used M&S they were a broker so if they are then it's worth contracting your insurance directly.

honestly i dont understand why people declare stuff like this if it OEM alloys..if anything happen they cant do a thing as it is a bmw alloy unless you have aftermarket alloys then i see the need to declare i dont see the insurance evaulater would know too much about cars unless its obvivoulsy modded or aftermarket.

p.s then there is the 'oh i dunno, it was already like that when i bought it' phase =D

If they're willing to load the premium then they're willing to wriggle out of a claim if you didn't tell them. This is the sort of shit the insurance companies came up with last year before the ABI issued its advice. Find out who the actual insurer is and complain in the strongest possible way. If that does no good then walk.
