Front 135i wheel as spare for 335i?

Hey guys, I am new here. My wife just got a 2009 BMW 135i and we had a tire blow-out 300 miles from our home. It doesnt carry a spare but luckily had run-flats. We had to stay over-night in Lexington Kentucky to wait until a store would have the correct sized tires for the front. We ended up getting all new tires on her car, and kept a front tire from it to buy another wheel to make it a full spare tire for long trips. I am buying a 2008 sedan 335i w sports package tomorrow and want to know if this spare wheel from the front of a 135i will fit on the rear of the 135i as well as the front and rear of the 335i. That way we would just put the wheel, jack, and breaker bar in whichever vehicle we take on road trips. I used the site to run calculations and here is what I have.

135i
5 lug 120mm
215/40-18 +45
245/35-18 + 50

335
Type 162 (Front: 18x8 ET34 225/40 R18) (Rear: 18x8.5 ET37 255/35 R18)
5 lug 120mm
225/40-18
255/35-18

So that means if I used a purchased a stock 135i front wheel and get the tire mounted on it, it would fit in the following situations with the given differences:

135i front
Native
135i rear
11mm MORE clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT 1mm
.02in difference in diameter
335i front
11mm LESS clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT 11mm-.315inches difference diameter
335i rear
2mm LESS clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT 14mm
-.059inches difference diameter

When it says less clearance, does that mean I would need to purchase a 10mm spacer for it to fit on the 335i's front, then it will fit without spacer everywhere else?

All of those calculations were using the stock 135i front wheel and tire. I could save money by purchasing an aftermarket wheel, so I ask is there one size of a wheel I could buy that will fit the stock front 135i tire(215/40-18) which will work without needing a spacer for all wheels on the 135i and the 335i? If not, what would you guys recommend for cheapest wheel possible to fit that tire and what spacers would i need to have and for which car?

Thanks a lot!!

Yes in theory you could make these work with spacers. However, 45mm and 50mm offset are just too big of a gap. You will need to use something like 15mm front and 25mm rear spacers to make the 135 wheel to look decent. Why not find some wheels with a lower offset to begin with? There are plenty of cheap aftermarket wheel that will fit the e90 better than a 135 setup.

Per the title, the question is not about looks nor about a set. It is about using one wheel with a 135i front tire to be used as a single spare for both the 135i and the 335i. Any help with leads to wheels that would work would be appreciated. Thanks for the input though, dmz.

You should be fine. I did something similar using a non sport wheel on an e39 540 a few years ago. The set up isn't ideal but it's temporary.

Thanks for the input. Does it make any sense to say that a wheel with more offset would fit more vehicle set ups, or does that not work that way?

It makes sense in the way that you can use spacers to lower the offset.

I ended up ordering a brand new wheel on ebay for under 120 shipped which was a 18x8 5x120 ET35 wheel and my spare 215/40/18 tire should fit it with little to no stretch. That wheel should fit front and rear of both the 135i and the 335i, it will have only positive strut-side clearance and stick out a bit further from the car which should be fine. I bought a scissor jack brand new on ebay for 25 shipped and a 17mm lug wrench for 10 dollars shipped as well. Thats 155 bucks (plus 15 to mount and balance) for a full spare kit with a left-over used tire.
