Winter tires - 225/45R17 vs 205/50R17
I wanted to know for the winter, what would be the differences in handling between the following two tires on a 335i?
225/45R17 and 205/50R17 |

I had the 205, wish I woul have gotten the 225. 335i have too much power for the 205, I was spinning my wheels too often.

for snow/ice, skinnier the better. as you increase, you trade off snow/ice performance for more dry/wet.
Like others said, 225 is a good compromise. If you drive in horrible winter conditions, 205 may be better, but your dry/wet performance will drop dramatically. |

Yes excellent point I run 205 50 17 Hankook W300....I have had no problems with this type of setup. NO MATTER what setup you have in winter you still have to be carefull |
