OEM wheels... what spacers?

Hey guys, I haven't found much information on this for the 16" wheels. So here's my dilemma: I have an 18" staggered flush summer fitment that I LOVE. Well I'm getting ready to order my Winter tires, and I'll get them mounted and balanced on my factory 16" Style 268 wheels. But I won't put them on the car until winter sets in (probably late November here in Michigan). My question is how large of a spacer should I go with? I think I want to go front and rear spacers.

Here are the specs...
2008 E90 328i (Pre-LCI)
Wheels: 16" Style 268 (et34) non-staggered
Tires: I will be fitting a 205/55/R16 Winter performance tire

I'm guessing I can go 12mm fr and 20mm rr, but this is purely a guess, and I would love some help with figuring this out. Thanks in advance!

15mm front - 30mm rear would be a decent setup.

I would probably do 25-35 to get a bit more flush.

What are the cons with going so large with the spacers? Is it dangerous? Not recommended?

I've been running 15mm spacers in the rear for about 15k miles so far.. no problems. Modern cars have a very high tolerances and most spacers won't cause any mechanical problems.

However, I would stay away from 10-12mm spacers because these can't sit flush with the wheel hub lip. Go for only 5mm, 8mm, 15mm, 18mm, etc.

I'd put on some 20mm in the rear, you can most likely go even wider, but many doesn't make bigger than 20mm. And 20mm will help a lot.

My 10mm spacers sits flush and they are hub centric.
