Opinions on cracked wheel

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum and new proud owner of a 07 E92. My 3rd 3 series.

I got a the ST1 and Federal group buy deal early August and within 2 weeks, I ran over a pothole and one of the wheel cracked . I examined the pothole and I thought that the wheel should sustain such a impact. I would have only expected light bents.

Would you expect the wheel to crack going over this pothole (in picture) driving around at 30mph?

With that being said, Sonic Tuning is looking over it to see whether it should be covered over warranty (been 3 weeks now). My experience with customer service (Ray at Sonic Tuning) is great. I am just questioning about the quality of the wheel.

Thanks

It's a low pressure cast wheel. That's what I personally would expect to happen. There's value in forged clearly, but also high pressure casting too.

Sorry about your loss though!

Best,
Tony

I owned a set of VMR on my E46 which was about the same price as these and they sustained through much worse. I just expected the same

Should have researched more before buying those wheels.
