BMW paintwork
Does anyone know how long the BMW paintwork is guaranteed for?
I have the E90 (2008 model) and already have some rust coming through on the front pillar section next to the front windscreen (nearside). Does anyone else have this issue? and will BMW cover this? |

Go see the dealer immediately, I think it's 6 years on paintwork with the usual exclusions (i.e. rust come from the inside out, no accident damage, serviced by BMW dealer, etc.)

I have a friend who owns a year old X1. He bought it second hand, it was 3 months old, nearly brand new, no accident damage, no paintwork done on the car.
His car now, has started to grow bubbles under his paint, spreading all over the car increasingly day after day. Small bubbles, making the car looking like its suffering form a desease, and has grown pimples everywhere. Never seen anything like this before, although im in the car business for 6 years, nor the dealer. My friend has sent some photos of his car to BMW, and he is waiting for an explanation!!! |
