General G-Max Sizing

I'm in the market for new tires.

1. I have dedicated Blizzaks mounted for the winter (thanks Gary).
2. I currently have RE050A RFT mounted (extremely worn)
3. I have the staggered setup on my e91 wagon --> Tire Size: 225/45-17 (Front), 255/40-17 (Rear).
4. I had the unfortunate experience of changing from winter to summer tires too early last year. It took me 12 hours to drive from Colorado Springs to Grand Junction in a snowstorm with my RE050A's.. which should have been a 5 hour drive. For my purposes, I need a high performance all-season set for 8 months.. then 4 months for my snows. So, I'm am not looking for summer only tires.

I'm looking at
1. Continental ExtremeContact DWS
2. Continental ExtremeContact DW
3. General G-Max AS-03
4. Anything Else?

I was unhappy when I realized the Generals do not come in 255/40-17.. so I guess they are out.

Any other things I should consider? Is there another size for the generals I can use to substitute? I want to keep the staggered setup - don't want to buy new wheels.

Thanks in advance.

Andrew

The DW's are summer only. Go with the DWS as an option for UHP A/S

Thanks for all the input!

Anyway, I got the DWS's. They are riding great.
