Noob needs help :-)

Hello All

I just got a 2011 335 ix with msports package and I want to upgrade the wheels. I want to go for more of an aggressive look with the tires/wheels sticking out a bit and I was looking at 35/33 off sets. I am not sure what the stock offset is on my car... What do you guys suggest, I am trying to stick with 18 for comfort and traction since I do have to drive in snow for a few months every years. Thank you in advance for the tips.

The offset of the wheel does vary from one manufacture from another. Is this car a coupe or sedan btw? I ask as the 09+ sedans do require a slightly more conservative fitment in the rear as compared to the 06-08 sedans as well as the 07+ coupes. Have you narrowed down your search for wheels? If you're looking for a recommendation you may want to check out the VMR VB3 CSL style wheels. Here are a few pictures for you to check out!

I was looking at those wheels and did speak with you guys :-) I have a sedan and Elliot also suggested to go with the 18 x 8.5 35 and 18 x 9.5 33 off set. What do you recommend?

I'm busting your balls. You mistyped those specs.
My setup is much more aggressive than what **********s posted.

The VMR VB3 CSL wheel setup that is recommended is actually the 18x8.5 ET40 with a 225/40/18 up front and the 18x9.5 ET33 with a 255/35/18 in the rear. This will fit perfectly and will not cause any rubbing issues or require you to modify your fenders!

Thank you ^^^ that is the set up I was lookin for. I have been reading alot of posts for winter tires and it seems like I am screwed with the staggered set up and have to get another set of wheels for snow on top of everything else... Any other suggestions?

This is correct but op also mentioned he wanted them to stick out a bit, not the opposite. That et40 is gonna be tuckin on him.

OP if you are looking to be flush with your fitment, I wouldnt go less than an et35 fr and et33 rr, even then you may want to grab some 5mm spacers for both the front and the rear all depending on the tire you choose.

Anything more than that and you will be getting into M offsets and need a fender roll.

+ 1 - VMR does only make the wheels in the 18x8.5 ET40 fitment up front. You can most definitely put a 5mm spacer if you wanted to bring the wheel out a bit further and that is all personal choice!
