SO,
I just picked up my 08 black/black 335i 6sp over the weekend. Want to start off by saying that BMW is on point for when they call their cars, ultimate driving machines. My whole mindset has been BMW 24/7 ever since test driving it at the dealership. Wouldn't 2nd guess this decision at all!

I'm looking to tint my windows, however NJ/NY laws are a bit out of control lately. My coworker owns an 09 335i and he got pulled over(not sure how dark his was)
What shade % of tint would you recommend for my car? I want it to look classy and NOT over do it by making it too dark. If you are in the Jersey area, what spots do you recommend?

This is the sales section, you should repost this in the technical sections.

But I would say 35% all the way around looks great. I think 20% is too dark and you will get pulled over. 35% is pushing it, and I can't say you won't be pulled over, but I think it is a happy medium between dark and legal.

This is what I was told for Florida
Strip across top of windshield can be as dark as you want, so can side rear passenger windows... 2 door or 4 door. Front door windows and rear window 35% is the darkest u can get legally.
They suggested to me to go dark on rear passenger windows and front windshield strip to limit the light getting in the car to make the 35% tint appear darker.

Hope this helps, only repeating what I was told

I went with 20% all around and love it... Didn't get a receipt cause it's to dark. And cops in FL must not be as bad as yours cause I've never been pulled for dark tint..... I'm knocking on wood now
