I am looking to purchase an old school M6 for fun...this one looks super clean...what do you guys think????

I love the E24, it was my first 6er and the most fun!

id also check to see if it can be registerd in NY? It notes its Euro spec and has no cats or any emissions controls, so I wonder how you get that on the road here

Looks very nice, you may also want to check the Roundel as there are often some cars available from BMWCCA members.

But is also has US bumpers and rear side markers, so it looks like a sort of hybrid spec.

sure, it may have been upgraded at some point for DOT rules, but my concernt would be the catalytics and if you can register the car. Here in the US, cars have to have an annual emissions inspection (except for cars predating such technologies) which includes a measurment of the effectiveness of the catalytic converter. Without one on a car that was made with one(if US spec'd) would not pass the inspection and therefore could not be registered for road plates. But, as the seller seems to note it was driven in the states, perhaps he has done something to address this.
