Installing E90 LCI footwell 12v socket?

Hello,

I'd like to remove the ashtray from my 2009 E90 and install the 12v socket in the footwell under dash panel.

Please could anyone who's done this post a DIY or instructions?

Will the 12v socket from the ashtray fit in the footwell and will the cable reach or do I need different parts?

You'll most likely need different parts. Nothing is really universal in this car.
