225/40/19?

Hey just wondering if anyone has run a larger 40 series on a 19" wheel up front and 35 series on the rear?

I know the standard plus one is 235/35/19 up front and 255/265/30/19 in the rear, but I want to maintain the sidewall height from the 18" standard wheel while filling out the wheel well a little more.

If anyone has any pics showing this I'd appreciate seeing what it looks like.

I would not recommend putting a 40 series sidewall on your car. The overall rolling diameter would be 4.26% larger than your stock stuff roughly, so your speedometer may be off, you may get some rubbing, and it's harder on your brakes. I'd stick with a 35 profile instead.

I know this is a old thread I have changed the rears on my 2009 e92 335i wit sport suspension to 255/35/19 no issues and love the look not to mention its brought my speedo to right on. But now i wanna know if the fronts can go to 225/40/19 as i like the look and the new 2013 335 now run 225/40/19 and 255/35/19.

My rears look real good the tires go up into the fender a few millimeters kinda giving it that 911/gt3 look

Yep that size should work up front no problem. I agree that the taller tires are a good idea for many reasons. The taller tires help fill in the wheelwell better and gives you more ground clearance to lower the car, plus it fixes the speedometer and lessens the chance of damaging your wheels. You'll also get slightly better gas mileage.

Did you get the 225/40/19 up front in the end? I have an lci 392 and have just put 255/35/19 and 225/40/19 MPSS on and so far no problems, but my concern would be clearance under heavy load with a big steering angle where the tyre is outside the arch. The extra 11mm of side wall could cause nasty damage to the fender

I never had any fender clearance issues but my tension strut arms were always in good condition did at 50k and m arms at 98k so no front to back wheel moment and I was running stock springs and shocks. But yes if you have a blow out and shred your tire it will destroy the e9x plastic fenders 335 or m3.

I wanted higher mileage AS tires why I went up size for PS as3

Currently I have put dinan spring lowering the car 10mm in the front and bilstien b8 performance plus shocks m3 control arms and I?m running stock size Michelin pilot sport 4s because to much sidewall was causing noticeable bounce and roll at high speeds ... I had Pirelli pzero runflats with my current set up in July and loved the stiff crispness but there was a defective tire and the tire shop couldn?t narrow down the single tire so I went with Michelin pss4s last week because I?ve never had a balance issue with Michelin tires just wish they made a run flat in 19s but I?m good and now that I?m running b8 performance plus and dinan sprints with m control arms it is a very firm solid ride I just hate the sidewall rolling when cornering and changing lanes.

Sorry for the long reply just wanted you to have an idea of how why I chose everything I did and why I went back to my current setup. If your doing it for a daily drive and comfort without a lowered car and you don?t drive aggressive and your tension strut arms are solid that tire size will cause you no problems and you make enjoy it.

I?ll never put anything but a Michelin on my car in future after the 3mo vibration issue with the Perelli
