Wheel Fitment: Offset

Lesson learned: test fit new custom rims before putting the tires on.

I recently purchased a 2011 335i x-drive sedan with stock 17-in rims.

Went to a tire shop (Kal Tire) and bought a set of CORE RACING brand M3 replica rims for my winter tires. Spec - Size: 17x7.5, Offset: 41, Hole: 5, PCD: 120.

However, when trying to install them onto my bimmer, the front won't fit as the rims interfere with the break. Took them back to the tire shop and the technician suggested that we try a different set with 18 offset instead of 41.

My question is, will they work with my bimmer? According to the BMW dealer, stock rims have an offset of 34, so offset 18 rims will be rubbing the fender, while offset 41 will be rubbing the break.

If that is the case, my options left will be buying the stock rims ($490 each new, various price used), or custom rims from reputable vendors that specialize in BMW rims like Beyern, etc. (Is a budget of $250 each realistic?)

Suggestions?

You could put on spacers with the ET41 wheel.

Do all E90 LCI (non-M3) have the same wheel offset? How about pre-LCI E90?

Yes, there's no difference to a 328i or a 335i, or even xDrive.
The OEM wheels are ET34 in 17x8 and 18x8. And if you got a staggered wheel set-up with wider rears, 17x8.5 and 18x8.5, their offset are ET37.
All e9x OEM 19" wheels are 19x8 ET37 and 19x9 ET39.

And the offset of the wheels are the same (except for some 18x8.5 LCI wheels with ET39) for pre-LCI and LCI e9x car.

BUT there's a difference in rear track width on the rear of the e90 LCI and pre-LCI e90.
The e90 LCI are 8mm wider on each side in the rear.

You could always add a spacer to them to help with caliper clearance.

The spoke design of the wheel is really what will determine whether or not a wheel will clear a vehicle's brakes. Some spokes are very straight on the backside, which is bad for clearance, while others have much more room due to curvature in the spoke. It all depends on the design.

Et 19 should fit with a 7.5 inch wheel. Not sure if it would hit the brakes.
