oil change for e90 325???
Hey guys,
I just bought my e90 and I have a few n00b questions for you guys. Does the BMW service include free oil changes? If not, what type of oil do you guys recommend and how many quarts? I live in California and the temperatures never get too cold. Any insight/help you guys could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Wendy |

This is a tough question...
Yes it does include oil change at the "scheduled" time. For the E90...it appears that the first oil change is regarded to be around 15,000 based on the manufacturer. So that would technically be the first "free" one. Many here on the board believe that it should be done much sooner....search the forums..you will see various opinions on when. Some believe the first one should be done after the break in period. I don't have a good answer for you...I was planning on doing my first one at 7500 miles, but I might reconsider as some have mentioned seeing some metal shavings in the oil after the break-in period. In any case, this would not be "free" as it is a nonscheduled oil change. Check the manual (or search the forum)...it tells you exactly which synthetic to use. (can't remember off hand). Welcome to the board
