Driver side failed angel eyes, best option?

Both my angel eyes went out on the driver side recently. Is it something wrong with the module or the rings itself? What do I have to do to get it fully functioning again (cost at dealership)? Will upgrading to lux resolve all issues?

Thanks

Depends on why it failed... If it is simply just a failed bulb, replace the bulb and you will be all set. There are some places that will sell just replacement LED bulbs for the angel eyes fairly cheap.

Hope this helps

make a visit to the local auto parts store... they have replacements bulbs. Search in DIY section on how to replace it.

You should be all done in $15-$20.... no more. At the stealership they would charge you close to $100 or whatever their minimum charge is.

If they both went out at the same time then a bulb issue is probably less likely. Not impossible, just improbable. Are you getting any messages (assuming you have iDrive)? May need to check some fuses.

Why? There is only 1 bulb per headlight to illuminate both rings.

OP, it's most likely the bulb.

And yes LUX is your best PnP solution. OSS for full LED replacement rings.

I misread when he said that both went out when he was only referring to one side of the car and not both sides. My bad. You are correct.

Yep, it sounds like the bulb just burnt out. If you are still under warranty, have the dealership change it out for you. If you are thinking about going aftermarket, now is the time. LUX is the brightest LED plug and play solution to getting a nice white illumination.

If its under warranty fix it at the dealership.

If it's not get a set of LUX for the LCI white light look which is brighter than the OEM ones.

If it's just a burnt bulb then I wouldn't waste time going to the dealer. Just buy a new bulb or get some LUX.

Trade in the car!

Hey OP, since you didn't say what type E9X you had, if you have the sedan with the yellowish angel eyes (like mine... before), screw the OEM angel eyes and get the LUX! It's awesome! If you have a coupe with the nice white angel eyes already, then yeah, go to the dealer and get them to replace it for you.

Hey, thanks for all the responses. Past few days and holidays have been hectic. The "driver side parking light malfunction" on my iDrive suddenly stopped popping up one day and all is well. They miraculously started working again.

Could it of been something was loose and I hit the right bump? How do I prevent this from happening again? Thanks.
