d Day at the Track

Back in late November, I got to take the d to Road Atlanta, courtesy of a birthday present from my wife. I just got my pictures from the photog, thought I'd share a few. Already starting to plan for the next track opportunity!

Thanks! I like the last one - the straight I'm approaching is much longer than it looks in the picture, and I'm coming out of turn 12, which is a blind downhill high speed curve onto the straight.

Thanks Chris! It was a blast, the event was run by MVP Track Time, and they do a really great job.

LOL The Cobra in the background of the first pic blasted by me on the front straight! Not that I minded, it was wonderful to follow him and listen to the beast!

I think I have a pic of a "scalp taking" amongst the collection, I'll try to find it.

Curious. I read that Audi found driving their R10 @ 3k rpms was the sweet spot. Did you find a particular rpm which worked well.for you? Also what gear did you find yourself driving in the most? Were there any instances where your Tq advantage became apparent?

Looks like awesome fun. Those open windows probably cost you an extra second a lap, though

Most HPDE require your windows down. Here at MMP they always do.

I had a very good time. I think the poster was goofing around, but you are exactly correct, it was required to drive with the windows down for wave bys - in my case, the Cobra!
