Wink T Bone's M6 + Painted Wheels

I have been contemplated either powdercoating or painting a set of OE M6 wheels for my car. I want something bigger or potentially heavier and I like the OE setup. So I purchased another set of OE wheels and had them painted.

I shyed away from powdercoating as I was worried about harming the forging of the M6 Wheels.

I had my wheels done at The Wheel Fix in the Toronto Area..... While I just wanted them painted, I had to get them completely refinished as it needed to the OE clear coat stripped first. All in all I paid around $800 for all 4 wheels and they look really cool in person.

http://www.wheelfix.com/index.htm

I have one more cosmetic upgrade....I will post more pic of the completed car in a couple of weeks....

Can't wait till the 335xi gets in so I can start playing with that one too....

Did you end up painting them or powder coating them? What is better for wheels? Paint ot powdercoat? How would these look on a coupe

If anybody is good at photoshop, can you photshop these wheels onto a Sparkling graphite 335 coupe.

What color did you have them painted?

Awesome ride, and great choice of colour for the wheels

I immediately recognized your neighborhood, because I ride (mountain bike) through the area all the time. I take the trail behind the school down to Neyagawa, and then ride to Lions Valley. Maybe I'll see it around sometime, cheers!

$800 seems a bit high, but they look like they turned out very nice.

The car looks very aggressive now. Just needs a drop to finish it off

I just changed it to Space Grey on Coral Red Leather yesterday. My friend just picked up a Sparkling Graphite (my original color).

Amazing how the car looks like it needs to be dropped with these wheels. I have had wheels painted in the past and this is consistent in terms of pricing. $200 / wheel, I got the tires dismounted, wheels stripped, primed and painted and the tires remounted + balanced. The guys that I used are really good and to be honest, I rather have excellent workmanship than to save $200.

Wow, that looks mean as hell. It looks like the car is tearing ass around the road even when it's just sitting there.

Wow. Simply beautiful. Great taste man!!

First thing I realized when I saw the painted rims was how well they hide brake dust! Lucky you
