m3 style bumper questions/mpg decrease/brake duct modifcation help

hey everyone,

So my m3 bumper has been installed and is looking sexy, the shop removed both brake ducts and was able to dremel the oil cooler ducting so that is still there. I have noticed a decrease in gas mileage (about 15%) since getting the car back, and i've gone through about 3 tanks of gas - there are only 3 things i can attribute this to: 1) increased drag from larger bumper with more holes for air which --> leads to my second possible reason which would be that the increased air flow just gets stuck in the bumper area and is not directed from the entrance of the bumper out through the fender liner to the brakes. or 3) i had re050's on the front and ps2's on the back and had a new set of ps2's put on the front while they installed the bumper.

Does anyone have any idea why my mileage would be down/has anyone else experienced a decrease in MPG after putting on different bumper. Also wondering if anyone has instructions or tips for modifying my old brake ducts to somewhat fit with the different bumper?

You can retrofit the M3 brake ducts to fit the M3 rep bumper (requires some cutting)

i highly doubt not having brake duct tubing there caused your gas mileage to change

I drove total about 500 miles right after getting the bumper to go snowboard, the mileage was the same from what I noticed, and I don't have brake ducts currently

Is there a DIY for retrofitting OEM M3 brake ducts to M3 rep?

I understand that it is highly unlikely that my mileage dropped from around ~320 miles per tank (20 mpg) to ~270 miles per tank (almost 17mpg) all because of the brake duct removal, i was merely writing down all the changes that have occurred since the mileage drop.

A DIY for brake duct retrofit would be much appreciated, would I also have to buy new front fender-liner extensions and retrofit those or do the m3 ducts line up with the 335i fenderliner extension decently?

When I installed my brake ducts, I used double sided tape to hold them in place and then placed three screws on the top of each duct to make sure they wouldn't go anywhere. I chose black screws so you really can't see them unless you get on your knees and really look for them.
