Any quality HID kits out there that don't throw codes?
Basically a replacement, but is offered it 5000k or 6000k?
I just want to upgrade the temperature, without changing brands or quality. I've just heart too many code errors in people's attempts. I'm assuming taking out the battery during install will help? Thanks.

In that case, I believe you are going to need an H11 fog kit--but don't hold me to that just yet, let me do some fact-checking first (and you should do some research yourself, just in case I'm wrong). I would go with the 6000K HID kit from HighPerformanceBulbs.com. Their kits have a fantastic reputation for being error-free. And, you may notice that I push HPB products a lot. This is not because I'm an employee (I wish!), but more because I've been 100% satisfied with every product I've purchased from them, and their customer service has gone above and beyond the call of duty every time I've needed help. If you want to upgrade your headlight bulbs, you will need a D1S type bulb. The best 5000K bulb you can get is the OSRAM/Sylvania 5000K bulb. It should be on American shelves really soon, but if you can't wait, a trip to ebay will pacify that (this link is the way to go http://www.ebay.com/itm/OSRAM-SYLVAN...item20bda30eaf .) I'll definitely get those when my factory ones start to get dim. Alternatively, you can go with the Morimoto 5000K bulbs, available from TheRetrofitSource (http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...oducts_id=3179 ). While yes, the quality of those bulbs won't be OEM, they will be 95%. The question is more, can you justify going up 5% in quality with 200% price increase? |

As another poster mentioned additional error cancelers may work but its just another band aid. |

You would need the H8 kit with 5k or 6000k, I personally like the 6k better since it matches the OE xenons. It's good to disconnect your negative terminal when you do the install. And most of the canbus kits wont throw an error. Let me know if you have any other questions. |
