Thinking about painting my SILVER e90 sedan to "MONTEGO BLUE" color

Any suggestions? Is it a big hassle, cost etc? I just love my e90 and wonder how it would look?

Not to thread jack, but do you have to change the title or tell the dmv your car is another color?

i dont think you do, not positive though

it would be cheaper to vinyl your car, a good paint job where do you all the door jams, engine bay etc will cost you a pretty penny somewhere in the 7-8000 range, vinyl would be around 2-3000

yup! a serious paint job is definitely not worth it, especially for a factory color. If you're that desperate to swap colors, sell your car and buy one that's montego.

or vinyl wrap.
or forget about such an expensive cosmetic modification (painting)

not worth the hassle IMO. Either wrap it or sell it and get a Montego. Repainting just adds hassle when trying to sell or trade in and is $$$ for a quality job.

This might be painted, but I would wrap it in a matte blue like this:

As someone said, you'd probably be better off buying another car due to the high cost of a good paint job.

Buy a Montego Blue BMW. The way cars are painted in the factory, vs. out of factory are different, meaning the BMW factory has better quality and finish coming off the line. You could also get a bad paint job which would result in peeling, and you'd have to paint the door jams, engine bay, truck, etc. Painting a car is a PITA, and isn't worth it if your car doesn't have flaws.

Thank you all for your feedback. I had a feeling its not an easy task. Dont get me wrong, I like my titanium silver, i was just wondering. I guess montego blue will be my next color car.

Unless you plan on keeping the car until it rusts out from under you, don't do it. A repaint will drastically lower the resale value of your car, not increase it. And make it harder to find a buyer.

Oh, yeah -- it is very expensive to get a decent job.
