Bilstein Sport install

Hey guys...I have been wrenching on my e92 335xi all day trying to get the g*d d*mn tierod bolt to line up with the freshly installed Bilstein Sport and Eibach Pro Kit. The problem seems to be that the hole on the strut is a half an inch to 3/4 of an inch too high now.

Anyone else know how to remedy this issue? I am pulling my hair out trying to figure it out.

I'm not enough of a mechanic to picture the problem you're having, but are you sure you fit the bottom of the strut all the way into the steering knuckle?

...and are you sure it's the right p/n? I don't remember a hole anywhere on the strut, just a pair of headed pins, and a bracket. Anyway, I'm no mechanic so I won't be able to help you. To me, "tie rod" means the steering gear tie rod. Is that what you're referring to?

I thought I had as it no longer would go down any further. But the ridge on the strut tube that would appear to be the resting place for the insertion is about 1/4 - 3/8 of inch up. Maybe that is it.

I'll go check now. Thanks.

XI and I knuckles I think are different so an i model shock won't seat properly in your 335xi, at least from what I've gathered off this site.
