ipod touch problem.

Anybody ever have issues with ipod touch not working in usb port in armrest??
i think mine is a 2g..when i plug touch in it doesn't come up on screen,,,it reads usb not connected...when i plug in my nana 6g it works no problem...this is weird...any tips??

My iPod touch works fine ( it is not the latest version of the touch - it does not have any camera's its the model that was out the same time as the 3GS but it has been updated to iOS 5.) BMW apps run OK with it using just the white original Apple cable except it does not support video or the Plugin as these only work if you use a snap-in cradle for which there isn't one for the iPod that supports these functions) My car has all the options such a USB audio and bluetooth and is fitted with a combox if that helps.
If you have any more details on the specs such as iOS version and the car options hopefully we can help

I have ordered a 520d with media proffesional and intend to use my Touch. Does it show the artwork on the scrren if you are using the cable instead of the dock?

Yes the album art work is displayed fine - Just videos and the Plug in that doesn't work without the snapin

I think it must do. I have no media package (only Basic) and I can plug my iPod in via apple cable... and I get artwork and playlists on screen. So with your Pro Media, it mus definitely work. You can control songs with Idrive and thumb-wheel on steering wheel... sees playlists etc. etc.

Album art certainly works with mine just the video and the plugin that doesn't work without a snapin - and there isn't a snapin that supports the ipod properly.

Ok I restored.my itouch and it still doesnt get picked up. Stay says no external device connected...ughh
