Front Tire Rubbing?

This picture is showing the inside of my front right tire. As you can see, it appears that it has been rubbing on something for quite some time.

Any ideas what it could be? Bent rims, control arms, etc? Alignment out of whack?

Tire, wheels and everything are stock.

No, the tires haven't been rotated.

This is from a 2006 330i with sport package.

If its an 06, ill have the bushings/alignment checked out first before buying new tires. Those current tires should be marked as unsafe.

Had a similar issue with the inside front tires on my 06 325i. Though they didn't look nearly as bad as yours. Didn't think much of it as they were used OEM rfts and thought maybe that's the way they were when I bought them and just didn't notice. Got new OEM rfts installed about a year ago so I think I better check them and make sure its not happening again.

I don't know the alignment history of the car since I just bought this car used.

The car does pull very slightly to the right hand side. That's why I was wondering if it could be related to alignment. But if it is, then the alignment has to be really out in order for this kind of wear?

Last time one of my tires did this, the wheel was bent on the inside lip, do you have any vibration between 40 and 80mph?

Check your alignment too. Also check for shinny/well-polished spots in your wheel well to see if the tire is rubbing.

No vibrations at all. I tried looking for possible rubbing spots but can't locate any. I'm taking it in on Monday and will report back.

If these were really rubbing you would hear it. Looks more like 'normal' camber wear that is common for these cars where tires haven't been frequently rotated.

It is indeed an alignment issue.
