My 2007 E90 330d with a JDM twist
Hi guys,
Its been a while since I parted with my beloved Evo 9 MR 360 mapped to 400/400 so I thought I better show you what I have now Well, here is the 9's replacement, its a Nov 2007 57 plate Le Mans blue BMW E90 330d M Sport with a manual gear box, xenons, alacantra interior and no iDrive. I have always had a love for these cars since getting my Class 1 pass on the Police Advanced course so I knew how good the cars are and how they can be driven, in many ways I think this car is as quick as an Evo in the right hands, especially over bumpy ground. If you have never driven one of these, do, you will be surprised at how well they corner, and go! This particular car was owned by a rep who did 50k in it, it has a FBMWSH and this guy really looked after it! The paint bar a little scrape on the front O/S corner and a few stone chips is immaculate, the interior too! In my second day of ownership I took the car to Dave at R Spec Performance in Bicester, Dave worked his magic and remapped the car for me as I found it down on power with all the grunt being over very quickly. It started life as totally standard with no carbon and MV3 wheels. And after I added the following: R-Spec Performance remap to about 300 bhp/480 ftlbs Parrot bluetooth handsfree Hardwired TomTom Go Live 1005 Black M Sport mats AC Shnitzer rear spoiler JDM only Hartge front splitter Carbon fibre kidney grills New staggered BMW Motorsport wheels from BBS (hence the BBS decals as per the BTCC cars) Michelin Pilot Sport runflats This is after I washed twice, clayed, Autosmart Tardis, machine polished the car with Meguiars 105 compound followed by 205 polish. Sealed with Auto Glym gloss paint protector and finished with 2 layers of Dodo Juice Purple Haze Pro wax. It sat for a night so there is a little dust on the car Enjoy:coolsm: Let me know what you think but to be honest, given it my first non JDM car I don't think its too bad for a Noob |

Probably not what you want to hear but I think it would be better without the stick on CF bits. They dont seem to sit flush the bodywork.

Each to their own but most carbon areo bits don't sit flush, GT wings on the Jap cars etc, they all stick up a little but what I can tell you is that they are a perfect fit!

Love the front and love the motorsport alloys.
The rear spoiler is too much. If you're going to persist with it at least get a CF rear diffuser in the same weave so it ties together I'd personally drop down a level and fit the aero spoiler. Each to their own though! Just, if you stick with it: You gotta get something more.. Darkline rear lights are a must next mod btw also Dave

I actually quite like the spoiler now, took a bit of getting used too but it looks good and I'm happy Quote:
I also find that this car has a great deal more la down power where the Evo had loads further up the rev range. No, your right actually, I guess the JDM only front Hartge splitter doesn't give it a JDM twist at all But thanks for your constructive post anyway |

Car looks good except for the rear spoiler which just looks out of place but each to his own.

So from reading I gather that the spoiler is
Marmite, I like it, good job really.... BUT..... What spoiler would you fit if it was your car, post up your suggestions please, and nothing stupid like an APR high rise one from the Time Attack or some chav one |

OP
Very nice car! The best colour IMO Amazing effort with the detailing - how long did that take you? Are you having 2nd thoughts on the spoiler? (sorry - just couldn't help myself!) |

The whole detail took about 10 hours including the 2 washes with the two bucket method. It's the machine polishing that takes the time as I used two. As the week has progressed Incan still see a few swirl marks that are in the clear coat in some places so I might give it another go. BMW paint is very hard Nd the best I've worked with, Mitsibishi paint is made from chocolate!! Non of my pads had any blue on which suggested it was only minor imperfections to the clear coat but if I'm honest I should have cleared the garage and done it in there through the evening as I rushed a little as it was getting dark so I could have done better. Defo the best colour too, as you know and to be honest I'm not really having second thoughts, just curious to see what others would have fitted |
