Bmw 1m clutch upgrade

So in looking for a clutch upgrade i research all the clutches for the 08 n54 135i and ACT or HPF seem the best.

But in looking around for info on the 1m i thought since we have an n55 shifting linkage i have no clue if we have a n55 clutch or an n54 clutch.

In doing research i found out that the clutch disk in the 08' 135i differs from the clutch disk in the 11' 135i

- we have the same clutch disk as the 11' 135i which the part # ends in 8492

- our flywheel also differs from both the 08' and the 11' but from our flywheel to the 11' the flywheel differs from 1 single number in the part number.

Example
-11' - 3249
- 1m - 3250

Trying to find a clutch upgrade that works

Does anyone have any info on clutch upgrades for the 1m?!!!????!?

Didn't Turner recently buy a 1m? I'd call them. Or call some of the vendors you mention above and ask them?

Please let us know what you find out. I'm curious to know too!

BTW, you getting slippage?

I think ZF Sachs makes an upgraded clutch.

I do not think Sachs has a US importer - yet.

Acording to RealOEM.com the 1M and the N55 135i's use the same clutch disc... # 21217598492

FWIW, I'll likely go with a SPEC Stg. 2+ clutch with a steel single mass flywheel (also made by SPEC) when my clutch is in need of replacement.

Believe it's available from Harold at HP Autowerks and from Jake/Dzenno at ProTuning Freaks.

Flywheel change is not necessary.

Chutchmaster's website will tell you what kind of torque each setup can hold. Their clutches work really well. I used their street/strip clutch with heavy duty pressure plate in a prior car and it gave a noticeably firmer pedal, but was not hard to daily drive at all. I wasn't stuck in stop and go traffic very often, but when I was it got a bit tedious.

Clutchmasters FX300 and FX400 have been the two best sellers for our 1M customers.

I'm looking for the full kit with steel flywheels. Master clutch don't build steel flywheels only aluminum which causes lots of rattling sounds

We have done multiple Spec clutch installs at our facility on 335's and we recently just did one on an E92 M3. Every single customer has left happy. The best choice with a flywheel would be the Spec Stage3+ with steel flywheel.

There is good thread on e90post http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...highlight=spec
After reading it all I think you will not go with single mass flywheel. For now best bet is SPEC stg2+ or 3+ with oem DMF. There was a few reports that ACT clutch held a good power though very short like for 10000-12000 miles

I have a situation with my 1m. THe milage at this moment is 11k km.
Stock clutch had been changed on 6k km and I installed SACHS Perfmomance. Yesterday it began slip.
My specs - 400 hp and 600 nm.
What is better to install now? Should I change flywheel?
The usage is daily with some traffic jams and i don't care about heavy pedal.
On winter season I'm going to upload stock program.
any sugestions?

Still hesitating and don't know what is better choice for a daily drive:
-Spec st.2+ and Steel Single Mass Flywheel
-Clutch Masters FX300 ans keep the stock Dual Mass Flywheel

Don't want to have any rattle noise.

what about CM FX350? any opinions?
I didn't find FX300 here http://clutchmasters.com/shop/?page=...11&ToYear=2012
I'm planning to order it and install with stock DMF for daily usage and track days.

SPEC wheel will rattle for sure search on youtube... but you can go also with SPEC stg2+ oem DMF...

Anyway it is recommended to replace DMF with new one.
