paddle shift retrofit - what are the yellow wires for?

I just complete the paddle shift retrofit on my 2007. I followed the DIY guide without any problems.
My car had the two yellow wires installed in the connector behind the steering wheel. I removed the wires as instructed in the guide. Everthing seems to work fine, just wonder what these two wires were for. Anyone know where these wire go?
