Average life of a MT clutch?
I have a 2006 330i with about 124,000 kms' on it and I think the clutch is going on it already. I had the car since 80,000 kms' and its not like I was learning how to drive stick on the car. I recently tried an aggressive start around 4k RPM and the clutch slipped noticeably. This seems pretty soon to be replacing my clutch. Is this normal? Anyone else replace their clutch and at what mileage?

I'm in the processing of replacing mine. I decided to replace it even though my clutch (at 57,000 miles) wasn't slipping or anything. It looks like the disk still has about 10,000 miles to go or so. But again, this all depends on how you drive.

I've owned 5 MT Bimmers ranging from 35,000 to 97,000 miles with absolutely no clutch issues.
Of course, having driven MT cars for many years and "respecting" the clutches and transmissions may have helped. Tom |

A gentlemen with a '06 325i that owned the car since new and just passed 250K miles, changed his clutch at 220K miles.

~199K miles. I -still- don't fear my 335i. |
