Hello & a question

I'm about to join the M3 club (E92). Does anyone know of people failing inspections or getting tickets for the Performance Exhaust?

I was planning to sell the A4, but after just getting the valves cleaned (got the dealer to throw in a CPO warranty for free! ), it still pushes all the right buttons. Plus, since my E92 is a southern car in great condition, it seems a shame to put it through NE winters.

I guess I'll be garaging the A4 for the summer.

only way you should really fail inspection is with a catless exhaust (even then, if your secondary O2 sensors are coded out you should pass. I do with my s4). Or if were obscenely loud.

haha, just recognized your name from qwne!!

Are you speaking from experience? I was backing away from exhaust, since I'd hate to pay to get it modded, only to turn around and pay to replace whatever part(s) the mod affected.

Well, the plate is easy. Just get the Skene Designs bracket. That lets you easily remove it for GTGs, track, etc. and without leaving holes in your bumper cover.

I have an Akrapovic slip-on exhaust with the Challenge Engineering "Street" X-pipe and just passed the Massachusetts State inspection no problem. The BMW M Performance exhaust is also a "Slip-on" type and should not cause you any inspection failures as it does not effect the primary or secondary cats in any way.
