BMW Apps Retrofit?
Does anyone know if there is a way to retrofit BMW apps? When searching for a car, we could only find one that didn't have it and I didn't want to wait to build.
I know it was possible in the late E9x with a new FSC code. The dealer told me that BMWNA said no, but do you think they're just holding out to figure out how to monetize it? |

I think BMW Apps is just software, but you need to have BMW Assist combox and large screen (Nav) for F30. If you got Assist and Nav may be able to retrofit - check with your dealer.

That's what I thought too. I have Premium, Tech and Enhanced Assist. I have to imagine all the hardware is there to get it done. My only thought is that since its $250 from the factory they're not authorizing new VO's until they've sold a bunch with them so dealers don't circumvent them.

There is a APPS retrofit for some late model E90 LCI with the correct hardware, but there is nothing listed for the F30 yet.

Besides, most cars are built to order so you'll be in good company.
