e92 320i chip

Hello all,

had my e92 320i for a couple of weeks now and really not impressed with the power seems to be alot of dead spots and it just doesnt pull like i want it too, on reflection really wish i went for the 320d, anyways to the point im thinking about re-mapping it to get alittle more horse and to try and kill some of the horrible flat spots was looking around on the old tinternet and on here really think an evolve remap is going to be my best best. now i have a little knowledge of tuning cars and the theory behind all remaps is the same but ive come across this chip on ebay and i know it looks abit dodge but if you read it, it seems to tick all the boxes Link posted below, also i know the sprint booster gets alot of slating here but if im just wanting to kill the flat spots at low revs i was poss looking into just fitting that. so to cut a long story short i have 3 options

cheap looking chip from ebay

sprint booster

or just bite the bullet and go for a proper remap

thanks for any help any 1 can offer with this or if any 1 has some expereince with the sprint booster or even if some 1 has 1 of these chips ( i doubt it ) i would really be greatfull for a point in the right direction

Not sure if its worth the $$$ to flash the N46, I had a E90 320i and the cost to tune is pretty high for what little gain you have?

In regards to that chip it looks pretty dodgy lol.

I had experience with sprint booster though not on a 320i - seems like a waste of money IMO.

yeah alot of people seem to say the same, the best BHP increase i can see for a re map is only 15BHP for about £300 alot of money to try and kill some flat spots and to get better throttle response thats why i looked into the sprint booster and that silly little chip on fleebay really not sure what to do put up with the dead spots and poor throttle responce or go and spend £300 to fix the flat spots and to only get 15 bhp

hhmm again wish i went for the 320d lol

what exact flat spots are you talking about? Like general 320i performance? manual or auto? also have you driven another 320i? is your slower? or the same? point being the coupe is a heavy car so what were you realistically expecting from a 2l engine? and the flip side is, is your car mechanically sound?

* the NA engine is a poor car for modding on street use.

theres a few very noticible flat spots low revs in second again in forth further up the revs havent noticed much else, i havent been able to drive any 1 elses 320i so nothing to compare it on, i wasnt expecting 2 much from the 2li but it really does seem suggish in take off and doesnt seem to pick up untill high in the revs

it is a manual

the car is mechanically sound bar this sensor thats gone, i dont know if this would have been causing a bit of issue throwing too much fuel into the mix or what dont know alot about it to be honest should hopfully get the car back at the end of the week and ill see if there is any improvement, and if theres not then i can put it down to it just being general performance of the 320i

Riga,

there is so much mixed info in regards of the sprint booster some people hate it some people seem to really love it,

again i know theres no real gain inregards of BHP and such really conflicted heart set on just getting a re map now and just be done with it,

Awfully polite,

just got word back from the stealers when reading on the comp it was comming up with a nitros oxide sensor?? never herd of it before but and aparantly neither had the stealers, so they put it off to the BMW specialist and it ended up 1 of the coil packs was playing up so they aparantly replaced them all

" This is starting to sound like the common fault that the 320i suffers!!" really hoping its not tho the car was driving fine did have 1 little hiccup where the car lost power for all of 5 seconds then everything was restored!

but back to the original point of the car being dead on take off hopfully this will make a bit of improvement should get it back on friday, and also should have my private plate fitted by then woo

ohh and also the re map is out the window as i got word back from a comp i was looking to get it done by and long story short its far too much hassle and pennys for the gain is was going to be getting

sooooo .... im back to looking at sprint boosters and i know they get a hard time on prity much every forum ive looked on but its all of people who havent used or tried them the people that do have them seem to love them
