Do I have RTTI?

I recently got a 06 330i sedan w/idrive, it's 4/06 production. I tried to use the voice commands for traffic info, but got nothing. i am wondering if this is a nav option or maybe a 2007 option. Any thoughts?

i don't have the 25.00.xx progman update. Scheduled to go this wk (if that even matters for RTTI).

Don't sweat it. I have it and it is never that helpful... It all depends on what your local radio station puts out... It is never accurate... Atleast not here in Miami...

ill bet it comes out with a progman update...

if u ask them theyre like no BMW has already said this is not possible - which they did...

but then the same thing happened on the 02 7-series with the bluetooth retrofit...

BMW said for sure it wasnt gonna be available but then along comes a $500 plug & play retro

just give it some time lol

RTTI works well here in NorCal - has saved me several unforseeable traffic jam waits in just a few weeks of having my 328i. Just my .02 cents.

RTTI works in Atlanta. No - you can't retrofit it.

Here in Austin it's Garbage In Garbage Out. It's only somewhat useful when it alerts you if the entire road is shutdown due to an accident. It's not BMW's fault, it's the collection of info. I've heard of a lot of cool technology out there, but so far, I think they are only testing it.

For example, our cars should communicate back out to the traffic system our current location and speed. Right now, most traffic is determined by a few helicopters flying overhead and by police reports.

Or better yet, all cell phones! If the cell phone GPS determines you are in the middle of a street, it is safe to assume you're in a car. So...then it should send back out to the cell phone network the exact location and speed.

These ideas are some of the things they are testing. Will it ever happen? Probably not. I can hear the Big Brother comments now! What if you could opt out? If you want the smart traffic data, a requirement is that you have to share your data.

Only 9/06 production onward have RTTI with the Nav system. 07 production started on 8/1, cars with nav had the choice of waiting till 9/1 for nav & RTTI or dropping nav. I was one of those cars and optioned for waiting..

2007/07/20 update:
RTTI will only function properly with map disc version “2007.1” or later.
The part number for this map version is 65 90 0 415 622.
