Removal of M Diffuser
Not difficult and no need to remove the bumper.
1) There are 5 plastic plugs on the bottom of the diffuser that can be removed with a trim remover or small and thin pry bar. There are two parts to the plug, the stem and the receptacle. Both come out. 2) This takes a little patience and bravery. Start at the bottom corner near the tailpipe. Push inward with your thumb towards the part where the diffuser meets the bumper and pull away with your other hand. There are tabs that snap into and out of place. With a little force you will pull if free at the corner. Once you have it free the rest will be self evident, but you can pull it away from the bumper fairly easily. 3) Reinstallation will require you line up the tabs first and then push them forcefully into place for proper alignment. You might have to do this a few times to get it fully flush. You can bang the diffuser from the bottom with the palm of your hand. 4) Reinstall the plugs at the bottom of the bumper. I will try and post some pics. |

Here are the plugs that are removed from the bottom of the diffuser. I used the tool (gently) in the picture. There are 5 in total.
This is the bottom of the diffuser where the plugs go. The side tabs are pictured below. Pull the diffuser away from the bumper at the tailpipe and work your way up. You need to push with your thumb where the tab meets the bumper and pull away with your other hand in the opening for the tailpipe. The top tabs. When reinstalling, forcefully push from the outside where these are with your thumb or palm to align to the bumper.
