Anyone have Formula One tint pics?
Hey Guys, I recently purchased a new AW E90 and I want to tint the windows. I have pretty much decided on getting the Formula One Pinnacle series (I have CA) and have it narrowed down to either 35%, 50%, or a combination of the two. I would like it to look classy but also provide a little privacy. Here in California we are only allowed 70 on the front driver and passenger windows but I think I could get away with 50% and might even risk 35%. Anyway, I have seen some pics in other threads, like the official window tint thread, but I am looking for more pics of F1 pinnacle series tints to help me decide. If you could post them here I would really appreciate it. Thanks for your help!!!

Yeah, as I stated earlier, I have already searched through a ton of posts and found a few F1 pinnacle pics....noteably Linus' (50%) , BK's (35%), and Ascension's (35%)pics. I have also seen some 50% pics that weren't F1 pinnacle and know that different brands can look very different. I am just looking to see if anyone has more that might show me more differences in tint and under different lighting.

Hey Ascension,
Mine is an Alpine White with the grey dakota leather (light grey) interior. I am planning on getting it done at rocky mountain window tint in livermore as it has been referred to very highly on this forum (about $400). Here in marin they wanted to charge me around $700 for the same thing. Anyway, I don't want it too dark but would like it to provide a little privacy tint. In your pics you said it looked a little dark because it was overcast, do you have any on a sunny day to compare? Thanks for your help and advice, Tim |

I am probably leaning toward 50% on the front side windows and 35% the rest of the way. I think 35% all the way around would look really good but don't know if that might be too risky and get me a fix-it ticket. I also like the look of the same % all the way around so 50% all-around is my other option.

I have the same tint as Ascension and had it done at the same place as he did (Rocky Mountain Tint). Those pictures are accurate and personally I'm happy that i went with the 35%. It's not that dark but gives you good privacy. I have noticed that it does keep the car cool during the warm days.
On cloudy days, or at dusk, the tint really seems darker, but not obtrusive. Overall, I'm extremely happy with Pinnacle and I'd recommend them to you as well! |

Also, I've pulled up next to the police in my tint with no problems. I really don't think they notice it unless you go really dark like 15% or so.

OK finally got around to taking more pics
OK Tim,
Here are the other pics of my 50% Pinnacle F1 tint as promised. I had to take these yesterday. A few comments: * the tint is darker in real life than it appears in the pictures (my camera settings perhaps?) * with a lighter exterior colour, I think you would do well with either 35% or 50% tint - both would look great; with darker colours, I believe that 50% provides for a much classier tint * pinnacle F1 is great and my install was done very well * with 50%, I notice substantial heat rejection - despite what you might believe, Toronto gets very hot in the summer (90+ Farenheit plus humidity) and so heat rejection is important * I personally think the same percentage all around looks very classy, so I would lean to 70% in the front (mandated by your laws) and 50% for the rest - that's just me * either way, 35% or 50%, should be great with your colour |

Yeay, my first post~
I will try to take some photos tomorrow, I just got my new coupe tinted a few days ago with F1 35% all-around including the windshield. First, I was going to get 50% all-around...but thought it looked too light when I saw the tint in person. So then I wanted to get 50% windshield and the rest 35%. But the slight color difference between windshield and side windows bugged me when looking out from the inside(from the outside I couldn't really tell). So I went with 35% all the way. It might be a little more risky, but it looks AMAZING. Personally I would go for one tint all the way around, whether it is 50% or 35%. |

here is my car with 35% f1 tint all around. That is the darket I can go without being harrashed by cops in my state. I have silver ext and black interiro. Check it out.
post #5 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...highlight=tint http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...highlight=tint Remember, tint is not just for privacy, it also blocks out UV and keep your car interiro cool.

thanks guys for the pics - this is a great help
So I guess right now I am leaning a little more towards 50% based on my own personal taste. I love the way Ascension's look in the sunlight (in fact I think it is exactly the look I am looking for) but it looks a little darker than what I want when it is cloudy or dark out. Linus' looks realy nice and very classy and still provides the benefits of tint, just not as much privacy. I think mine might also look a little darker than his with mine having the grey interior compared to his beige. I have also read a post by BK who has 35% with beige interior and sometimes thinks he should have gotten 50% because it sometimes seems a little dark to him and draws unwanted attention.
I also came across this photo of a 545i with F1 50% and think it looks great in that lighting. Whatever I end up deciding I will take some before and after shots to post and thanks guys for all the help. If anyone has more pics, keep them coming. |

Here is another pic of Linus' car (50%) from another post. To me it looks like in the shade it is really close to Ascension's 35% in the sun. That is exactly the look I am looking for. I want 35% in the sun and 50% in the shade. Now I just need to decide which way to go.

i think the best way for you to decide is to probably come out to a meet next time. Most of us do have 35% so you can see first hand what it'll look like.
