question about installing HID foglights
I have a 2006 325i and I have been reading many threads about HID foglights. I understand 06-07 models have the most issues with HID kits for foglights. I know in the past people were using 4700uf-10000uf capacitors to get rid of the errors and other problems with using the HID kits. I also read that nowadays you can just code away all the cold and warm checks for foglights and there won't be any need to use the capacitors and some kits these days are all plug and play without the need for error cancellors or capacitors. Anyone use this kit right out of the box without having to make any modifications or adding anything ? http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...ast-35W-or-55W. I read that the Canbus ones are good but also read that they aren't necessary. I'd just like to get recent up to date info before jumping into this. Thanks in advance for any help or info.

Hi, i have installed about a dozen or so different HID kits in my car/friends cars, and from experience you really tend to get what you pay for!
The first kit i ordered was some 80 dollar slim HID kit from some website with Canbus Digital decoders ( just some little black box with capacitors), and they worked really good for about a month, then i got errors, and they would only tun on if i tuned my fog lights on and off 5 times or so. Ive used (JDm-toy,kENSUN,Pyle,Omega,M-tech and a few other chepo ones) If i was to suggest any HID set-up id say a plug and Play from M-Tech ( i belive from e92 lighting.com). Its not very cheap but it wont give you errors and is completely waterproof down to the connectors. Also if you do decide to get a cheaper kit, make sure the decoders are plugged in correctly!, if the current is reversed you will destroy it. sorry as i am not so organized with typing. hope this helps, Good luck

Really, Ive read on several forums that I had to take out the wheel well.
Anyone know where I can find a write up with pics or a vid? I've never done this on a bimmer before. |

start on the drivers side. turn your steering wheel all the way to the right. You will see 2 8mm bolts on the edge of the wheel linder near the bumper . remove those. then peel back the liner. |
