Tint job

I'm going to get my windows tinted on my E90. Never had windows tinted before and my local tint shop is asking $315 for non metallic tint all the way around including WS tint strip.

If non-metallic = ceramic and not dyed film, sounds about right. I got FormulaOne Pinnacle Ceramic 35% all around except WS for $250. Air Blue 80 on the windshield was another $200. Then I got VentureShield on the bumper, mirrors, and headlamps for $540. All totally worth it IMHO.

you need to find out the brand and type of film, and what type of warranty they are going to extend to you. $315 is a good price for ceramic film and a rip off for regular film.

If it is ceramic and they offer a lifetime warranty then that is an okay price

Also make sure they felt your doors or else your tint will scratch.

I got mine done for $200 (Llumar non metallic, all around except windshield).
Didn't need felt on my E92, no problems with scratches.

Sounds about right. I got mine for about 250.

I have a stupid question. How can you tell if they felted your windows? I have a scratch on one window. When I stick my finger between the inside seal and window it feels fuzzy, like felt. Is that it or is that factory? When I got it done I didnt know enough to ask.

They wouldn't felt your windows for free and especially not if you didn't ask them, so you would know. They charged me $15/window to felt. You can do it yourself if you buy the moleskin kit for $30 but the extra $30 to let them do it and get it over with was worth it to me. You feel felt because on the E90s they felted the top weatherstrip (the one you feel) but the one below that is not felted.
