Getting a COBB

I'm pulling the trigger on a COBB, great deal too. $900 including a BMS DCI shipped up here to the land on snow. I've been reading that I'll see big gains... any stories from similiar setups?

In case you don't have any more mods than the tune I would use a Procede V5 or JB4, which both supports E85. This will give you better performances and flexibility than a Cobb tune only IMHO.

I just installed mine a few days ago with an afe DCI And I'm totally lovin it
Just go straight to the aggressive map
I tried the valet map and saw my mpg go up to 32mpg (normally 28)on the breezeway
With the DCI it sounds sick as hell

From Stock to Tuned, it'll be the biggest jump in power you experience. I ran Stage 1 Sport as my DD with the aFe DCI and loved it. Even on Stg 1 you've got more power than 75% of the cars you'll see on the road. Now I'm FBO, run Stg 2+ (Drive) as my DD and Sport/Aggressive when I need an adrenaline rush.

I just installed a cobb today with no other mods. I went right to stage one aggressive with linear throttle and i'll have to say my initial impression is slight disappointment. Maybe I just thought the power would be way more noticeable right away and was expecting more. Maybe it's the linear throttle or maybe my ecu just needs more time to adapt? I did several 2nd, 3rd, 4th gear pulls....I don't know, maybe just my butt dynometer is out of whack....

No surprises, you picked the wrong throttle. IMO, linear throttle is garbage & you should start w/ Stock throttle. Linear throttle was designed specifically for tracking so the driver would have more control over throttle modulation (25% throttle on linear = 25% of the power, 75% = 75% of the power, etc). Reason behind this is on Stock throttle + DTC completely disabled, you've got to be very gentle w/ the accelerator. On Stock throttle, the car will build boost immediately so the power will be very available & feel much faster. For normal highway/street driving, the Stock throttle setup is going to be the best setup (IMO) to go with.

***Just saying this after another used Stage 2+ and did a number on his car (didn't have the required mods), that if you're running the Stg 1 Aggressive map, you have to put 93 octane in your car & it's recommended that you have at least a drop-in filter. Also, b/c you've reflashed the DME's performance parameters, there really isn't going to be any/significant adaptations.

Are you sure you need an intake for stage one agressive? I'm on v3. On the cobb site where it lists the tunes it comes with, it says any intake is ok for stage one agressive just like stage 0 maps. Anyway, I went ahead and went for it with stage 1 agressive stock throttle and much better now. Benzy89 was right, much better than linear throttle....Let me know if I shouldn't be running this tune with no intake though. In process of making a mr5 intake.....

An intake upgrade isn't required, it's suggested. For Stage 1 an upgraded drop-in filter should be done to increase air flow & not overwork the turbos. Stage 2, a legit intake (BMS DCI, Mr5, aFe DCI, STETT CAI, etc) is a must. The stock paper filter not only lacks effectiveness, but also becomes a choke point.

PS -- If you're doing a Mr5 intake, an upgraded drop-in (K&N filter) is part of the build anyhow. I also suggest you Subscribe to this thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=472813

Mind if I ask where you picked up that deal?

+1 on Jeff. I actually got a better deal (<$900) for the set but that might be cause I'm located in the states. Regardless, he'll take care of you.
