E85 studder's on startup

Running a 50/50 mix of E85 and 93, when the car is cold and you start it, run's rough and stutters, seems almost like a misfire, I have had a HPFP code pop up, forgot to write it down.

If I run pure 93 I have no issues.

If you have fresh injectors and plugs, this isn't an issue from what I've heard

Have you logged since adding the E85? Curious what your fuel trims look like? I'm only running about 25%

The rain has sucked here. I run 50/50 and had 3 fuel system codes pop at once during WOT recently but it hasn't happened again. My car runs good cold start and great at op temp, no real issues. Might be because I have fresh coils and spark plugs. I read that jb4 tunes dont activate until the car reaches 160 degrees. I'm not sure if this includes commands that mediate the differences in using E85 vs unleaded?

me either, my logs tells me my car is just as happy with a lower ratio vs. a 50/50 ratio.

I think it's 180, same as procede. Shouldn't be getting on it before the oil temps come up anyway!

My car on a 35% mix of E85, it doesnt FIRE right up as when on pure 93 octane.. I have tested this and seen it for myself.

But this is the nature of E85..E85 is known to give a little extra delay in starting, hence on many other platforms they have a increase in cranking time.

If the car is running good on WOT and datalogs well i wouldnt worry about it.

Try something less aggressive, a 50:50 mix of 93 + E85 balances out to 99 octane. Run a 2:1 mix of 93 + E85 will have you at 97 which might be a little easier on the car.

Here's an E85 Octane Mix Calculator: http://www.intercepteft.com/calc.html

Mine studders a bit as well, but pulls right out of it after the initial startup - less than 5 seconds and the studder is mild.
