Roger Krauss Racing. Castro Valley. Alignment Olympians !!!!!

Okay. When it comes to balancing and alignment, you could say I'm ultra finicky

I had my wheels balanced three times in 2 weeks.

Roger Krauss resolved that

Since they did such a good job on balancing

Thought I would try their alignments out

I have used BMW , Edge motorwerks
Locals

Nothing compares to roger Krauss racing

Edge MWerks gets second though above BMW!!

Roger Krauss does alignment like an artist would draw a technical line

My BMW never drove as straight as it did, until after I left Roger Krauss

Wow. Wow

Lastly , instead of getting ripped somewhere else

They charged me $100 for their work of art , alignment perfected

Their alignment charge scale
$100-$140

Again. Wow

Thank you Roger Krauss Racing

Thank you Brandon

Interesting, I had just the opposite experience there. The shop came HIGHLY recommended by the Audi forums I belonged to at the time. So I naturally drove 45 minutes out of my way to get my 1999.5 Audi A4QMS to Roger Krauss Racing.

I had a 1pm appointment and got there at 12:45pm. The alignment "specialist" didn't get back from lunch until about 1:10pm and then proceeded to spend about 10-15 minutes talking to his buddies about a race car they brought in. Finally just before 1:30pm he starts on my car so I go to the waiting room. It seemed to be taking a LOOOOOONG time so I went out to see what was happening. That's when the "specialist" told me he had trouble getting my belly pan off and ended up breaking three clips and part of the pan itself. Instead of simply coming in and asking me, he forced it and broke it.

Long story short, he "ran out of time" and "got it the best he could" which was barely in spec! There was no compensation for the broken parts and only a bill for full price.

I have read a lot of good things about Roger Krauss Racing but my experience was FAR FAR from what I expected from such glowing reviews. Be warned your mileage may vary at Roger Krauss Racing.

Not sure if this should be a thread of its own, but what defines a "great" alignment?

I've had my car aligned at the dealership for almost triple the cost of tire shops and feel like the results are similar. If the end product is the car driving straight as an arrow, both seem to accomplish that.

I've also heard about the hunter alignment machines but wonder how it differs from the other. Contemplating if I should try one of these shops vs another tire shop. Any type of warranty for the alignment? Many tire shops let you come back as many times within a year.

I don't know how they do on Audi but they do a good job on BMW. I live close to Roger Kraus Racing and had both my M cars suspension replaced and upgraded there. They do a great job. Speaking of great jobs, if you ever need crash repair, look down two door to Don's Body Shop in Castro Valley.

BMW shop foreman told me with my 528i that's the best they could get it

I still can't believe that response. Shop foreman

With this 335i
Getting perfect center with the wheel seems to be an art form , not to mention tracking straight is pretty much an impossible dream

Roger Krause got both done. I was impressed. I drove 35 mins together there
