Ever wonder what your car looks like with a frozen finish?......

I was vacuuming my car this morning and was working in the drivers footwell. I looked up and to the right, so just behind the center stack, and noticed a patch a space grey without any clear coat sprayed on. I was wondering if I was the only one or if it was for everyone. Check it out and see for yourself.

May want to get a respray in frozen gray...... Just kidding. Not yet at least.

Thats just because only the seen portions of the car are clear coated at the factory, you will see that matte finish in the battery compartment, if you remove a tail light ect.

There is nothing more to tell. BMW are using every option to save penny.
Where is the hood insulation pad on 2009 plus cars? savings.
Lumbar support not an option on sport leather heated dakota seats? cheap = savings = asking for more money
differential size and bearings = saviiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiings
etc. etc. etc.

It's ok for a company to try and save money but on a hood pad? you pay 65k for a car and you don't get one, but you can purchase one for $75 from the dealership.

What is the benefit of that hood pad???

To the underlined: I have the lumbar support on the sport leather heated seats. Should I call the BMWNA and complain?

Whining for no reason...

what i meant is not there, but as an option, you paid extra for something that should be there to begin with.
it's not whining but giving observation based on compassion with many other cars.

I'd call him a troll if he had 3 or 4 posts. I don't think he is a troll, he's just upset because, like most of us, he got a car that he has head other people raving about (3series) all his life, and when he got it he realized it wasn't what he tout it was going to be. Happens everyday. Those who are upset with what is offered should consider "downgrading" to a Japanese import like an STi or Evo, similar performance but you're not expecting any luxuries so it's a value. That's why cars like that are so great. Can't afford a Bugatti, get a GT-r. It works for every price range.

Man, these cars sure are dumpy. I can't believe a mass produced car can't even be hand painted and assembled. You'd think with such a HUGE price tag of 40k You;d get stuff like that. I'm selling mine and looking for a 40 grand Bentley. At least those aren't so shitty.

If a 3 series was hand built, it would cost as much as a Bentley.

Given your response i'm going to say its the entire car lol. But at the same time, it's kind of relative.

An assembly line built japanese car (civic) will cost 20k.
An assembly line built german car (335is) will cost 60k.
A hand built japanese car (GT-r) will cost 80k.
A hand built german car (Bentley, owned by VW) will cost 200k.

Yes, thanks for reminding me. A few years back the average price of a car bought in the US was like $35k.

Thank you for bringing it the way i should have.
i love my car and like to drive but boy is it far off from people think it is. now i feel sorry for all the people who have 3 series and think they have something extraordinary. i'll get a lot of s&^t for saying this but people: 3 series are not that special. extremely pricey, below average reliability and yes they are fun to drive but special = no. sorry

I hope I didn't sound like a jerk. I genuinely meant it, and not just about you, but people who buy BMWs in general. I have to say, I thouroghly enjoy my car and have been very lucky when it comes to reliablity. It's just over three years old and has around 24k miles. But I understand not everyone has had the same luck I've had.
I actually agree with what you said above. The three series was never meant to be the "luxury" car its regarded as today. I was to be just a fun to drive car, similar to our mustang. Over time pubic regard for the car has changed and the price has reflected that. I think it's still the car it was meant to be, but quality issue have been present.

You didn't sound like a jerk at all, you were the only one with valid point and saying the way it is. It's hard to admit that after spending 60k for a fully loaded 335 it's not what you expected, it's not the car you were hearing to be and those tons of issues don't help much at all. It gives me a feeling a got worst than (i would not say american car as i haven't had an issue with american cars) eastern europian cars (YUGO anyone?).

I specially hate the fact that some members pretend to be an elite or what would people think if i get bmw,etc etc. It is not that special. period.
