Anybody with 19" wheels in nyc?

I'm looking to buy some 19" wheels real soon plus an eibach kit. Living in southern cali, this wouldnt be a problem at all. But I plan to drive back home to ny this summer, and I was wondering if 19" might be too big for ny? I still want to maintain somewhat of a comfortable ride. What do you think?

19" in NYC is not a comfortable ride at all....

Depends where in the city you are though.

Why not just buy in So Cal and ship or take it back with you? That way you can see it hands on

I might end up doing that. Just seeing if anybody else could tell me from experience. But I would think 19s would be really pushing it driving around in the city and the boroughs, especially where I'm going to be living in Queens.

19's in NY suck. Especially around the boroughs. I hate driving down there with even 18's.

Try driving in the BQE ... 19" = major headache + possibility of testing how far your runflats can go .. LOL

A word of caution. I dropped into a pothole on 2nd Ave X 105 St and blew out a tire on 18"s. They are my winter wheels so no RF's. I was flat within 5 blocks. Wasted almost an entire day getting flat bedded to my mechanic. Didn't use BMW assist because they only deliver to a dealer and none stocked my tire.

LMs have been great, no probs, but mine are 18s. Winter set-up w/ non-RFs had the mishap described.

They look like 18's...Any reason why you did not go Plus 1 on the sizing?

Dude, you do not even know. California puts NYC to damning shame in regards to potholes (and curb litter). There is no doubt in my mind about this. I'm speaking on behalf of Manhattan, Queens, Bronx, and Brooklyn. They're all crappy compared to Californ I A.

EDIT: The roads in upstate NY, on the otherhand, are actually not bad at all - very smooth.

Yup - hence why I posted that your statement was a serious understatement.

i've had 18s in all my cars and I've bent all of them-except one-my old Racing Seneka's-those were strong wheels. My 330 is probably going to be my first car that I wont modify or even just change the wheels.
NYC roads suck!!
