Difficulties or Issues with Lower Front Mesh Mod
Hi,
I did search...thank you. I found this thread on changing the lower mesh: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...t=bimmian+mesh Unfortunately, it doesn't really tell me about the perils or ease of this particular modification. I am looking to replace my front mesh with Bimmian mesh or possibly will remove my current mesh and paint it black. I prefer the latter option. Has anyone done this? If yes, how difficult is it to remove the existing mesh? Do the clips holding the mesh in place tend to break? or Is there a preferred method for easing them off to remove the mesh that would be helpful for a DIY job? Is there any thing I should know before proceeding with this change? I really like the look of black mesh as opposed to the grey color currently on my car right now. Thanks for any help.

you'll have to take the bumper off.. it only takes me 5 minutes to take mine off with the car on a lift.
4 torx screws along the top of the bumper 4 8mm screws under the bumper 2 8mm screws on the left side of the fender liner (same for right side) 2 8mm screws behind the fender liner on the left towards the top corner of the bumper (same for right side) unplug the foglights and unclip the harness from the foglight.

Definitely DIY!! Its really not bad at all taking the bumper off IMO. I recently took my bumper off and painted mine
Your going to have to remove the screws in the fender liner in order to get to the top screws for the bumper. Also, there are more like 8 or 9 screws under the bumper for the coupe... i guess its different for the sedans As far as the mesh goes, they are really easy to remove once the bumper is off. Just take your time and unclip them and your all good |

Do I need to do anything special (or is it more difficult) if I have a BMW Aero Front Lip Spoiler installed over it?
