Good or bad time to Buy Ipad 3?
I am planning to buy the New Ipad this weekend does anyone know if I should wait for the Ipad 4 or just buy the current one, this happened when I bought the original ipad and two months later the Ipad 2 came out so this time I want to avoid doing that
Thanks Last edited by E92BSM10; 08-16-2012 at 09:54 AM.. |

The ipad3 is only recently released, the next apple announcements will be iphone related for sure. I think its going to be a good while before we see an ipad4.
I own both an ipad v2 and v3 and to be honest, whilst the screen is nicer, I'd save money and buy a 2, there are some better prices around. |

You have to realise that everything gets superseded at some point. iPad 3 has not been out long anyway. Cliphunter looks so much better on a retina screen.

We have an iPad2 that we use at work for various things. I recently went out and bought an iPad3 for the house and to be perfectly honest I wish I'd saved a few quid and just bought the 2. The screen is better on the 3 but not by enough to make you feel like you haven't been ripped off.
The 2 is also thinner and lighter which is of more benefit than a marginally improved screen. If a 4 is coming out i doubt there will be much difference other than price. |

I agree with those recommending you wait until next month; useful site for Mac news and rumours here: http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/

If you're going through an airport (domestic or abroad) then check out Dixons Duty Free. They are usually list price, less the VAT so it makes a good "cheap" buy with Dixons/PC World for warranty. I bought 2 last month for our works raffle. Kindles are around 10% cheaper than Amazon too.

If you're on contract with vodafone I can sort you a pay monthly option on a 3G model if you'd prefer this to buying one out right.
And get the 3 don't bother with the 2. And as mentioned its likely to be iphone5 announcement in September.

It looks like there is going to be a new iPad every September. Sometimes there will be a big upgrade and sometimes a small one but remember there is only so much you can do with a 10" bit of glass and a big battery.
It might be a bit thinner or have a slightly better battery or weigh less (or more as happened with the iPad 3) but its all about the OS it runs so even if a new iPad does come out next month, what it does will be the same as the current iPad 3 (and even the iPad 2) |

I just phoned Dixons duty free at Glasgow airport and was quoted £479 for an iPad which is £499 from Apple or other UK high street outlets. That's a saving of fractionally over 4% - not exactly the full 20% VAT. |

I forget the breakdown now, but I paid £996 for a 64Gb and a 32Gb (Both WiFi and Cellular) I think the 64Gb was £537. That was Aberdeen Airport mid July. Certainly pays to shop around! Mike |
